Getting there

It's amazing how time can fly. I spent another week out of town and I'm behind again. Yesterday was my first foray into acid dyes. I need to fine tune a few things, but it's a good start I think. Like with the previous dying I've done, I'm not doing dye lots just yet. I'm just playing and trying to get a handle of the technique.

Yesterday I also did some kool aid dying, something I haven't done in ages, did it as a way to let my husband help. He was hovering. They actually came out nicely.

All the fiber is in a bath right now, will hopefully be dry in the next few days and I'll post them in the store. I also have 3 or 4 other braids I did before I moved that never made it into the shop, those will get posted too.

I'm making no promises since I seem to break them, but I am back and I'm going to make this work. For all of us :)

Almost there!

After combing almost every thrift store in three counties I found a whole two crock pots. I will give them a test tomorrow and if it goes smoothly then out will come the new dyes and my bags of fiber. I also was able to get a pot for steam setting hand painted fiber, so once I get a work surface you can expect the hand paints to come back. If all goes well I will be able to do more at once then I was able to previously, that means more fiber in the store. I still want to get a couple more crock pots, I'll head out in the other direction next week and check those two counties ;)

Once I get room to move around in my new place I'll start taking pictures, my goal is to have them all loaded before Sunday.

Look what I got in the mail from Earth Guild:






The top picture shows the Natural Dye and Mordanting starter kits, and the bottom shows the Lanaset Dye starter kit! Time to have some fun! Still need some crock pots, I hope to scour thrift stores the next few days. I hope to give the shop a complete make over this week.

Including:

• new photos of all items
• new sale items
• new stitch markers
• new rovings

I know I've really been slacking and I hope to change that. You all have been so wonderfully patient with me and my dwindling stock, I really hope to make it up to you all!
